For a quick and easy weeknight meal, try our spaghetti with tomatoes, basil and garlic. Mix it up by swapping out spaghetti for your favourite pasta shape or adding lentils or beans for a protein packed dish.

Ingredients
- 100g whole-wheat spaghetti
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, chopped
- ½ tsp red chilli flakes
- 400g Laila Chopped Tomatoes
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Laila Lemon Juice (optional)
- Basil leaves
- Grated parmesan style cheese alternative, for garnishing
Method
- Cook spaghetti in boiling salted water until al dente. Reserve half of spaghetti cooking water.
- In a large skillet, add olive oil, garlic and chilli flakes and sauté until golden. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until the juices are reduced.
- Mix in spaghetti and the reserved pasta water, to your desired consistency. Continue cooking over moderate heat, stirring occasionally until combined. Season with salt.
- Drizzle with lemon juice, top with basil leaves and parmesan style cheese alternative.
- Add canned Laila Chickpeas or Laila Butter Beans to this delicious dish for a protein boost!
